Riverbend's riverside, mountain view, hot mineral springs are just what you need for a relaxing retreat and a truly healing experience. Of all of the many hot springs in the southwest, Riverbend is truly unique.
The therapeutic benefits of our geothermal water have been known and used long before Geronimo and his Apache warriors left their weapons behind and spent the most peaceful time of their lives here as guests of Chief Victorio of the Warm Springs Apaches.
People continue to use our enchanted water to find relief from pain, to detoxify their bodies, and to melt away their stress. Come soak by the hour or stay the night and soak all day.

Riverbend offers a choice of public or private pools. Our riverside public pools, known locally as “The Hot Minnow Baths,” have a unique history. The bath house was a live bait shop that was built in the 1930s. Riverbend’s founders made a colossal leap and converted their family run bait shop to a hot springs in early 1990. Though they have been rebuilt twice, the three upper pools were once the original tanks that housed minnows, water dogs, crawdads, and other live bait. A sign above the pools pays homage to the bait house’s interesting story.

The public pools consist of five pools that cascade from one to another, creating a different temperature in each one. Temperatures usually range from around 103-108 degrees. They are situated around a shaded river deck and include a cold water plunge and a cold shower for cooling off. The Rio Grande River is also accessible for swimming at your own risk. Riverbend’s public pools are loved for the communal aspect of meeting people from all over the world, and they have become one of Truth or Consequences’ most popular social scenes.
Private Pools
Our private pools are perfect for those that desire to bathe au natural or would like more peaceful privacy. They are walled on three sides but open to the riverside mountain view. Each have their own river deck and reclining lounge chairs.
